Bekka's Herbal Cough Syrup

This is a fantastically easy recipe to start making your own herbal concoctions.

This recipe contains 4 easy to find ingredients. I promise you will be thrilled at how simple this is.

Ingredients:

-Whole Lemon

-Whole Ginger

-Cinnamon Stick (optional)

-Local Honey (Not grocery store honey syrup!)

Other Items needed:

-A Jar (with lid)

-A Label

That's It! I told you, EASY!


I've been making this cough syrup for over 10 years now and it has been the most requested item WAY before I started offering herbal products to the public.

So, how is it made?

-The whole thing: skin, rind, juice and all; Cut up equal parts lemon and ginger.

-Place them in a jar.

-Add a stick of cinnamon, if you like.

-Pour in the honey.

-Cap, Shake, Check ~ add more honey if needed.

-Label

Voilà you're done.

I use this syrup for most chest, and throat complaints pertaining to cough, colds, or flu-ish symptoms, & the like.


1-2 tsp as needed for cough (if it in the alcohol then every 2 -4 hours as needed should be enough)

With a really persistent cough, or a person that needs rest I will add a shot of Blackberry Brandy and Peppermint schnapps, to 8 oz of Syrup to make a Robitussin type cough syrup (without all the chemicals).

I love this stuff! It works, and tastes great!
