Natural Health Lifestyle, Try a Self-assessment

Updated: Feb 14

Stress (whether physical, chemical, or emotional) can build up in the body creating a toxic environment of the body that leads to illness and dis-ease.

This can accumulate emotionally when you are not true to who you are or when you don't work towards who you are to become. That is why it's important to do a Self-assessment for Self-Discovery.

To a very large extent, many of us tend to see what is wrong with others without taking a close look at our own self. Hince the need to do a self-assessment.

This project entails looking deep into you for insight. It's not becoming self-centered, but taking the time to look at yourself to learn about the person you see every time you look in the mirror.

Steps of Self-Assessment

The first step to a tangible self-assessment is to be very honest about yourself. Take a hard look at what you see in the mirror and take time to study the person you are seeing.

Describe the person that you see in the mirror using up to a total of 25 adjectives. Consider using both positive adjectives and one's that are negative. It is important owing to the fact that you are undertaking a truthful exercise. Consider digging deep down. Uphold utmost honesty.

Allow for a rediscovery of yourself.

After looking at yourself in the mirror, and discovering the person reflected back consider your likes & dislikes. This is vital to allow you to identify any potential issues that may help you know the root cause of your likes and dislikes.

When putting your negatives into words it creates accountability & helps to stop repeated bad behaviors. Keep in mind the fact that failure to focus on your past, you are likely to repeat the same in the future. Also, look for the ways you can use to cope with the elements that may be stressing you.

Consider the activities that you like doing. Which books do you enjoy reading? What in life do you not tolerate? What saddens you? For all the answers that you give, provide an explanation. Exploring these explanations gives depth to your values, dreams, and disappointments.

Next, begin journaling.

For the weeks to come, write down all your

emotions, actions, and thoughts that you

might have throughout your week. Write down what you do comfortably without much effort, but is also very rewarding. Continue to think of the previous exercise writing down reflections and understandings as they come.

Journaling is different from a diary in that you write personal thoughts and reflections you might have and add whatever comes to mind whether it is original to you or not.

Journaling is the written form of your personal journey of thought, values, and fears. Journaling is the journey that makes YOU. Taking a self-assessment is a vital exercise in making us become the best that we can be.

I don't expect you to be the best, I expect you to be the best YOU,

you can be.
