“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

This quote came from the Greek physician Hippocrates, some 2000 years ago.

Today I'm going to talk to you about adding spice to your life.
You might be asking, "How will I do that? "
"By adding herbs to your meals."
     "Herbs? "
     "Yes, herbs."

First, let's define what I mean by herbs. The definition of an herb is any plant part, whether it's the leaves, seeds, flowers, or roots, that are used for flavoring, food, medicine, or perfume. So whenever you can use a plant for a human benefit, that plant is considered an herb. Most herbs are "food grade," which means they can be safely eaten by people. Many also consist of hundreds or even thousands of constituents. That's The Good Stuff. And because herbs consist of more than one active ingredient that work together, herbal treatments can treat more than one issue at a time.

Have fun, be safe, be well.

I'm not saying for you to go run out and start eating your lawn. I'll leave that conversation for another time. I'm going to start off simple. You don't believe me that it can be simple, do you? Ok, Watch is this? In every home, there is the spice rack. The average rack contains, what?, about 16 different spices, right?

Some of the spices commonly found are:
Paprika Oregano Parsley Basil Mustard Sage Thyme Salt Pepper Rosemary Dill Garlic Ginger Cinnamon Cumin Turmeric Did you know that with just these few spices you can positively affect all the systems of your body?. In just these few herbs, you can tend to:             -Circulatory issues like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease              -Balance Body systems like: blood sugars, hormonal levels, and muscular systems
-Fight off Viral and Bacterial issues:  colds, flu, and germs             -Add: vitamins and minerals              -Provide antioxidants, prevent bad breath, and hair loss. I could go on all night naming issues that just these spices can help with, but I hope by now you are getting the point. God knew what he was doing when he made the herbs of the field. There is more to the spice rack than just making your meals taste good. Now that we have talked about the benefits of adding herbs or spices to your life and have inspired you to start down your herbal path, what's next? That is an excellent question. What has worked for me is to focus on one herb or health issue at a time. Be sure to check sources and find multiple references before using an herb or creating your own remedies.
