“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
This quote came from the Greek physician Hippocrates, some 2000 years ago.
Today I'm going to talk to you about adding spice to your life.
You might be asking, "How will I do that? "
"By adding herbs to your meals."
"Herbs? "
"Yes, herbs."
First, let's define what I mean by herbs. The definition of an herb is any plant part, whether it's the leaves, seeds, flowers, or roots, that are used for flavoring, food, medicine, or perfume. So whenever you can use a plant for a human benefit, that plant is considered an herb. Most herbs are "food grade," which means they can be safely eaten by people. Many also consist of hundreds or even thousands of constituents. That's The Good Stuff. And because herbs consist of more than one active ingredient that work together, herbal treatments can treat more than one issue at a time.
Have fun, be safe, be well.
I'm not saying for you to go run out and start eating your lawn. I'll leave that conversation for another time. I'm going to start off simple. You don't believe me that it can be simple, do you? Ok, Watch is this? In every home, there is the spice rack. The average rack contains, what?, about 16 different spices, right?
Some of the spices commonly found are:
