Every moving thing that liveth shall be for meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
Genesis 9:3

We are designed to thrive in our environment.
I started herbalism years ago after giving my children yet another breathing treatment for their asthma. One was sitting there stoned while the other was climbing the walls. I realized the treatments were not solving the problem, just masking the symptoms with nasty side effects, & not to mention what I was doing to their overall health, giving them steroids all the time.
That's when I decided I was going to find something better, something that we were meant to be using. That’s when I found plants can be used not only for food but also for medicine. That's when I jumped into the world of herbalism.
What is an herb & what is herbal medicine?
The definition of an herb is a plant or plant parts, such as the leaves, seeds, flowers, fruit, or roots that benefit humans. These plant parts can be used for flavoring, food, beauty, or medicine. So, herbal medicine uses natural substances, like herbs, to manage our health. This is the way we were designed to function and thrive.
Herbs have been used since the beginning as food & medicine. There are many plants that produce positive changes in the body, inducing healing throughout the body. Observations of these benefits have been passed down for generations, with each generation adding to & refining the knowledge base of their local plants. Every culture in the world has developed a base of herbal knowledge in this same way.
Why Herbal medicine, isn't pharmaceuticals better?
Did you know herbs & pharmaceuticals have some shared history? But there are some key differences. One main difference is the production process.
An herb is a plant part in its entirety, whether you are using the leaves, roots, or flower it is used in its whole part. Every herb consists of hundreds or even thousands of naturally occurring chemicals or constituents. The constituent combinations have synergetic effects, increasing their activity while reducing undesirable side-effects.
Pharmaceutical companies, on the other hand, make the mistake of extracting or isolating a chemical compound without the herb's other naturally occurring constituents. These chemical compounds are then synthesized or concentrated without the interactions of the herb's other compounds. This often results in negative actions or undesirable side effects.
For generations, we have been wrongly sold that we must succumb to man-made inventions if we want to live life. This propaganda has damaged every aspect of life, for us humans and for every creature that calls home near us.
Now that we are seeing the damaging consequences of these chemical-laden products, it’s time to take steps to rectify this issue. Today, I help you to take your first step to create your own solutions in your natural health lifestyle.
Any true creator who has ever created something, anything, knows how their creation works and knows how to tweak their creation when things are just not quite right. That same thing goes for us and our body.
We are designed to thrive in our environment.
If you are sick of dealing with health issues or otherwise don’t feel you fit the description of Thriving, then it’s your responsibility to assess and address the issues. It is not your parents, your spouse, and above all, it’s not your doctor's responsibility or right to do so. It is your responsibility and yours only.
As you can see, we do not need damaging chemicals to survive. We are designed to thrive in our environment. And can easily do so with plants and other natural ingredients. We are given herbs to maintain our bodies through food and its medicine.
So now that I have given you information as to why we need herbs in our lives, herbs & herbal medicine, I hopefully have convinced you to look at creating your path to a natural health lifestyle. What's next?
